Grammar
Simpli uses an analytic grammar inspired by Indonesian.
- Pronouns: One word for he, she, and it: el. Simpli does not have a separate “it”; el is used for all third-person singular (people and things). So: el go = he/she/it goes, El hav no hard gramer = It has no hard grammar.
- Word order: Subject – Verb – Object.
- Verbs: Never change form. Time with words (yesterde, now, tumoro). Optionally wil / hav for future or past when no time word; olredi / stil for completed or ongoing.
- Possession: Noun + possessor: haus mi = my house. You can add of for clarity, but it’s not needed: haus (of) mi, haus (of) broder (of) mi = my brother’s house.
- Plurals: Optional.
- Questions: Start with wat, hu, wer, wen, wai, hou.
- Numbers, dates & time: Western digits (0–9); read aloud East Asian style (2026 → tu tausand tu ten siks). ISO dates; 24-hour clock. Full guide →
